Flights to Milan resumed

   As BANKO Information Service discovered, Aeroflot and Alitalia will resume flights from Moscow to Milan from November 10 till November 23. Let us remind the reader that from November 1 the flights have been halted due to the conflict between the Russian and Italian airlines (see news from November 7). Irina Dannenberg, Head of Aeroflot Press Center, gave a brief comment: ‘Our company will carry out seven morning flights per week’. Ms Dannenberg declined to specify the conditions of the conclusion of agreement. As for Alitalia flights, they will also take place seven days per week, at 17:35, as Mr. Nedo Biagini, the airline general representative in Russia, advised BANKO correspondent.
   Destination experts now hope that in the meantime representatives of Russian and Italian aviation authorities will reach an agreement on further flights and select a convenient departure time for both companies. ‘Market for Milan tours is growing, and its capacity exceeds current transportation volumes’, says Alexander Morozov, PAC Group Air Transportation Department Manager. Other players also forecast problems with the lack of necessary amount of flights. ‘In January, tourists will fly to ski resorts, and from February till April Milan hosts international exhibitions. Lack of flights will be obvious then’, comments Lubov Chistyakova, Mondo Tours Executive Director. Meanwhile, there is a version that a conflict exists mostly between Alitalia and Aeroflot, and it is too early to consider it resolved.
