Travel companies that specialize in Greek market intend to promote a new Greekresort – Peloponnesus. Thus, in June Bureau South Cross plan to launch weekly charter flights Moscow – Aracsos – Moscow by Transaero Boeing – 737.
We remind you that in 2004 Jet Travel announced its plans to launch a direct flight to Aracsos by Aeroflot following the attempts of Greek travel companies to realize the same program. However, both projects failed due to lack of demand. According to experts, one of the disadvantages of the destination is the shortage of hotels. Therefore, travel companies can make reservations only upon the scheme of commitments.
Nevertheless, travel market players believe that at the moment the situation is favorable to extend the charter geography of Greece. Oleg Tregubov, Tourism Director of Balkania Travel, sated as follows: ‘since last year the interest in Greece regions, including Peloponessus with its wide diversified excursion program, has increased’.
Furthermore, organizers of the new flight also demonstrate enthusiasm towards the perspectives of the destination. A BANKO correspondent interviewed Andrey Kuznetsov, General Director of Bureau South Cross, said that last year proved the success of the charter the company plan, as the majority of tourists from Moscow-Minocos - Araksos –Minocos - Moscow flight went to Peloponessus.
Meanwhile, some market players do not share optimism regarding the success of South Greece promotion campaign. For example, Golden Eagles Tours is interested neither in a new charter nor in new excursion opportunities – they still bank only on beach tours to the North Greece and shop-tours.
