Atlant-Soyuz Bank On National Manufactured Aircraft

   Atlant-Soyuz Airline plans to extend its airpark before the peak of the summer season. Vyacheslav Ilyushin, Commercial Director of the Airline Company, said in the interview to a BANKO correspondent that in the middle of summer several Boeing-737 and Embraer – 120 will be added to Atlant-Soyuz airpark. All the aircraft will be in operational leasing. Boeings will be exploited for both international charter flights and inner flights, while Embraers will operate in-country flights.
    Furthermore, the Airline bank on national manufactured aircraft: Atlant-Soyuz plan to allocate IL-86 to mass-market destinations. At the moment Atlant-Soyuz owes six IL-type aircraft and have one in lease.
   Meanwhile, Mikhail Shamanov, Co-owner of Magapolus-Aviacharter, commented on the initiative of its strategic partner as follows: ‘it is a mistaken opinion that foreign manufactured aircraft is more economically adventurous. Yes, Airbuses and Boeings use less fuel but are expensive to owe as companies-owners of foreign manufactured aircraft have to pay high fees, which together with VAT increases the price by 44%. Besides, foreign manufactured aircraft is considerably more expensive in exploitation. In Russia we do not have all the necessary infrastructure to handle such aircraft. Therefore, foreign manufactured aircraft has to be transferred abroad for aircraft overhaul’. Furthermore, Vyacheslav Ilyushin, added, ‘It might happen that Turkey in order to increase chances to join the European Union will refuse to accept IL-type aircraft. Nevertheless, this aircraft will realize inner flights as in-country air traffic volume increases annually by 7%’.
