Windjet Preferred Domodedovo

   Italian low-cost airline company Windjet will launch flights to Moscow on March 8th. A-320 will fly from Italian Forli to Domodedovo twice a week. Windjet will be the third low-cost airline company after Germania Express and German Wings realizing flights to Russia.
   It is interesting that Windjet plans regarding launch of flights to Moscow were announced in October 2005 (news/20/10). However, in October Windjet planned to fly to Vnukovo starting from the end of December.
    A BANKO correspondent contacted Vnukovo Airport in order to find out more details as Press-Service of EAST LINE – a managing company of Domodedovo Airport – withheld comments on the situation. According to Vnukovo Airport, they did not expect such a turn of events. A representative of the airport said to a BANKO correspondent: ‘upon the agreement with Windjet we met all the conditions having provided them with slots. Nevertheless, at the last moment Windjet refused cooperation without explaining the reasons’.
   Furthermore, Vnukovo do not consider this to be a catastrophe as they are expecting cooperation with arrange of foreign airlines, Ukrainian AeroSvit being one of them.
