[IMG=20041-5805]PAC Group plan to launch a flight to Genoa – Transaero Boeing-737 will fly on Saturdays from July to September. Beside PAC Group aircraft, Boeing- 767 and TU-204 consolidated by Ascent Travel and Tu-204 consolidated by DSBW will land on the Ligurian coast. According to experts, Genoa is in limited demand, thus, the PAC Group charter might be excessive. However, Marina Nikitenko, the Head of the Italian Department, commented as follows: ‘our company is extending its activities, therefore, we decided to increase air traffic volume destination to meet the growing volume of sales’. Meanwhile, other tour operating companies comment on the PAC Group initiative as follows: ‘there is interest in Genoa in the Russian market, however, I believe that an additional charter will provoke excess of flights to the destination. Genoa is aimed at a small amount of wealthy tourists, who prefer picturesque scenery to beaches. Besides, the resort does not have infrastructure Russian tourists might expect, for example, aqua parks and prices are quite high’, explained Lubov Chistyakova, Executive Director of Mondo Tours. Furthermore, Victoria Zhenchevskaya, Director of DSBW, emphasized: ‘the demand for Genoa is stable but it can not become a mass-market destination. It is a difficult destination for travel agents – to have successful sales it is necessary to know all the hotels. But, I think, PAC Group have their own motivation for a charter launch'.
