The Greek Consulate Promised To Cope With The High Workload

[IMG=20058-5819]The Greek Consulate will take action in order to avoid delays within visa-issuing process in the high season, said Kostantinos Ikonomidis, Consul of Greece in Russia, at the meeting with Russian tour operators on June 8th. According to him, in June Consulate agents receive 1, 500 visa applications every day, trying to process the increasing flow of applications in a set period - 48 hours. Thomas Aidinidis, President of Golden Eagles Tours, said in the interview to a BANKO correspondent, that representatives of more than 20 travel companies, including Mouzenidis Travel, Vilar Tours, UTE Megapolus Group, Zeus Travel, Vand International Tour, Pantheon, came to the meeting. He also pointed out: ‘the Consul assured us that visas for Russian tourists will be issued without delays’. Meanwhile, Alexander Tsandekidi, General Director of Mouzenidis Travel, emphasized, that tour operators were relieved to receive guarantees from the Consulate as soon they plan to extend their programs thus stimulating the increase of tourist flow to Greece by around 50%. Beside visa problems, the issue regarding a number of cancellations and their reasons were generated at the meeting on June 8th. Ikonomidis outlined, that according to statistics every 60th tourist does not get visa but only in case of fraud documents.
