[IMG=20192-5968]On June 21st the issue that generated the greatest interest of the participants of the professional travel forum on www.tourdom.ru was the situation around the Greek Embassy that, according to forum participants, failed to issue more than 200 visas on June 18th. It is interesting that at the beginning of the month tour operators that specialize on thre Greek destination commented visa situation with optimism referring to the promises of General Consul of Greece to keep the current visa issuing period (48 hours). Meanwhile, at the moment travel market professionals point out tense situation around the Greek Consulate. Thus, Lubov Chistyakova from Mondo Tours said: “we are concerned about the current situation forecasting even bigger problems for July when tours are booked for August’. Furthermore, the further moving of the Greek Consulate to a new office planned for the middle of July also makes tour operators worry. Therefore, the only solution of the potential problems travel market professionals see in applying for visas in advance. They also emphasize that the Consulate should contribute to the improvement of the situation by making a timetable for applications from travel companies and by increasing the official visa issuing period from 2 days to 7 in order not to mislead tourists.
