On March 24th BANKO correspondents analyzed sales in Ekaterinburg where travel companies already process bookings for May holidays. Travel market experts point out a range of dissimilarities to the last year.
Firstly, the experts outlined two new short charter programs – to Montenegro (Ascent Travel, Ural Airlines, TU-154, 29.04–10.05) and to Luxembourg (DSBW, Kavminvodi - avia, 26.04–3.05). Experts do not doubt the success of the Balkan destination. Thus, Ludmila Zhukova, Senior Manager of Vista-aero, said to a BANKO correspondent that the demand is quite high even in spite of expensive Ekaterinburg – Tivat flight: ‘to fly from Ekaterinburg will cost $570, while to fly to the same destination from Moscow costs around $300. To go to Moscow by train and then to fly from the capital is cheaper but less convenient’, explained Zhukova. Secondly, experts point out one that Montenegro is one of few non-visa European countries, that allows to sell tours even a few days before a flight.
Meanwhile, the success of DSBW initiative, according to experts, will depend on the situation with visas, which are issued in Moscow. ‘If before holidays the French Consulate in Moscow increases a visa issuing period it will affect a tourist flow to the destination’, stated Olga Sverchkova, Vice-president of Fund Peace.
Travel market players pointed out delay in sales of tours to Turkey as one of tendencies of 2006 explaining this by the fact that some large players (especially Moscow tour operators) has not formed their programs. As a result tours to the UAE and Europe are more popular at the moment with tourists from Ekaterinburg.
