September 11th, five years later

[IMG=20947-6779] On September 11th New York was remembering the victims of terrorist act of 2001 when 3000 people died. The whole world still experience the consequences of the tragedy. As five years ago, BANKO correspondents asked travel market experts to evaluate the situation. Thus, Vladimir Kaganer, General Director of TEZ TOUR, said: ‘the main consequence for the travel industry became the intensification of security measures at airports and in some resorts. After September 11th there were many other tragic events followed by sales slowdown, but then people realize that life is continuing. It is sad but everybody has accepted that things of this nature might happen at every moment’. Anna Podgornaya, Sales Director of Pegas Touristik, agreed: ‘it was the first serious stroke with many victims that made people think that the majority leaves in an insecure zone. September 11th influenced not only tourism but all transfers. However, after the tragedy discontent boiled over. Therefore, at the moment the demand recovers more quickly’. ‘People easily forget tragic events if it did not happen to them or their relatives’, summarized Alexander Tsandekida, General Director of Mouzenidis Travel.
