On May 3rd the situation with the French Embassy in Moscow stabilized, but it did not put an end to problems for travel companies. Representatives of Russian travel companies interviewed by a BANKO correspondent pointed out that after visas for their clients were issued they had to make alterations to postponed tours.
According to Roman Rudenko, Tourism Director of Tourtrans-Voyage, the French Embassy on May 2nd issued 200 visas for company’s clients and 130 visas on May 3rd. At the moment Transtour – Voyage have to deal with a new problem - to make changes to the programs of those tourists whose holidays were postponed due to the strike in the Embassy on April 27th. This, in particular, refers to those tourists who are waiting for their visas in Brest – they will have to make up for their trips to Europe in a shorter time.
Furthermore, Inters Travel Company also received all visas for their clients on May 3rd. Three groups of tourists who booked tours from Inters missed the departure. Artem Kozlovsky, Executive Director of Inters, stated as follows: ‘now we have to plan a new program for our clients, reserve their tour for later time’.
