Overcrowded Sky

The beginning of the summer season in the Italian destination was marked with low ticket rates for a Moscow – Naples flight – 100-120 Euro, while their net cost is around 250 Euro. Nevertheless, travel market players interviewed by a BANKO correspondent, forecasted the situation at the beginning of spring when airline companies unveiled their charter plans. Thus, travel market players pointed out that four charter programs to Naples and two scheduled flights by Eurofly is an excessive air traffic volume for the Italian sky (news/ 06.04). You may recall from earlier news bulletins that PAC Group, Ital Travel and Intourbureau-Omega planned to launch one short and one long charter programs to Naples, while Yuzhel and Co consolidate their own charters. Besides, a group of companies Puteshestvui! operate charter flights to the destination. When the first announced flights were launched, Nelli Ionkina, General Director of Ital Travel, commented: ‘it reminds of the ‘parade of charters’ of two years ago. I believe, it is reasonable to operate two flights to Naples per week during the season and three flights per week in the peak dates’.
However, some travel market players, emphasize: 'this summer European countries, in particular Italy, will be in high demand. Current low rates is a temporal situation which will soon stabilize', said Ilya Itkin, General Director of PAC Group. Lubov Chistyakova, Executive Director of Mondo Tours, added: ‘the sea resorts of the Naples Riviera will be in higher demand starting from the middle of the June’.
