[IMG=20626-6413]On August 4th the Office of the Ministry of Tourism of Israel in Moscow commented on the situation in the country. ‘The situation remains unstable only in the North of the country. Such cities as Haifa, Nazareth, Tveria, Akko, Zfat were seriously damaged and, thus, are not attractive for tourists. However, despite the damage for the North of Israel the economics of the country in general is stable. Besides, the North is provided with all necessary resources. Supermarkets and banks work in a normal regime’, the message from the Office of the Ministry of tourism says. It was also outlined with the reference to the Director of the Office in Moscow that the rest of the Israeli territory, in particular Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem, Eilat, the Dead Sea area, is not under threat. ‘These routes are safe’.
Furthermore, the Office of the Ministry of Tourism of Israel in Moscow commented on the intention of some travel companies to boycott sales of tours to Israel. Representatives of the Office consider such initiative to be inadequate to the current situation. ‘It is not right to confuse tourism with politics, especially when boycott is initiated by companies that do notr specialize in Israel’, said a representative of the Office of the Ministry of Tourism of Israel in the interview to a BANKO correspondent.
