Experts Forecast Season-Long Demand For Excursion Tours To Europe

   Before the holidays in Russian schools, which will stimulate tourist flow from Russia travel companies that specialize in excursion tours to Europe, are concerned about the information about the bird flu.
    Roman Rudenko, Tourism Director of Turtrans-Voyage, said to a BANKO correspondent, that at the moment tourists who choose tours to Europe are not afraid of bird flu. However, an example set by Turkey which experienced difficulties in sales in January due to bird flu outbreak, make travel companies understand the significance of the problem and its possible consequences. According to Artem Kozlovsky, Executive Director of Inters Company, in case of unfavourable scenario the market ‘will see the same situation as happened five years ago when floods covered some European countries’. The expert believes, that much will depend on the coverage of the situation in mass media.
    However, forecasts for the coming season are optimistic. For example, representatives of Tourtrans-Voyage are glad that the situation in France has stabilized after the events in Paris, which affected the tourist flow to the country. On the other hand, Olga Sanaeva thinks that growth of sales is rather stimulated by the traditional factor – the beginning of spring.
   Among interesting tendencies on the market operators pointed out change in dynamics for May holidays. Experts forecast lower demand during the period. However, they outline the interest in the destination during the whole season.
