Domodedovo Airport Plan To Take Action Against Frequent Flight Delays

   On March 2nd in Swiss Hotel – Krasnie Kholmi a group of companies EAST LINE organized an annual event ‘New Routes’ where top managers of Russian Travel Companies and Airline Companies had an opportunity to discuss their plans for the new season.
   The subject that generated the greatest interest was the perspectives of cooperation for summer. The stand of the Italian low-cost Airline Company Windjet – which will fly to Domodedovo starting from March 8th (news/ 22.02) - welcomed the greatest number of visitors. However experts doubt the success of the Airline in the Russian travel market due to the company’s pricing policy in Russia (220-240 Euro + airport fees). Massimo Polimeni, Representative of Commercial Department of Windjet, commented as follows: ‘tickets cost will of course depend on the volume of a travel companie’.
    Furthermore, frequent flight delays in Domodedovo Airport were actively discussed at the meeting. Tatiana Vand, the Head of Vand International Tour, believes that considering the experience of last year and the winter season, it is necessary to issue a special document specifying the terms of cooperation between an airline and a travel company in case of delays: ‘at least a representative of an airline company should calm down passengers explaining the reasons for the delay’. Representatives of the Airport agreed: ‘we always organize training programs for airlines’ representatives. Besides, if necessary we inform them about possible delays and changes within flight schedule’, said Vladimir Kaminin from Domodedovo Marketing Service. He added that the Domodedovo Airport plan to offer incentives to those airlines that do not have frequent changes in the flight schedule.
