In Balchug Kempinski Hotel the presentation of The Brazilian Tourism Office was held. The guests had a chance to see a film about the country. Moreover, the Office revealed some figures. Thus, comparing to 2004 when 4, 000 Russian tourists visited Brazil, last year a number doubled.
Meanwhile, the Nepalese Presentation was held in more reserved atmosphere – in the Embassy of Nepal. The organizers demonstrated photos and made an oral presentation.
Both Nepalese and Brazilian offices hope for the increase of tourist flow to their countries planning to support Russian tour operators by organizing fam trips for them.
The majority of Russian tour operators interviewed by a BANKO correspondent share the enthusiasm of foreign representatives. According to them, the interest in the exotic destinations is increasing.
However, tour operators pointed out several negative points. For example, they focused on the lack of organized advertising support and promotion of the destinations. In general the Nepalese event turned out to be more impressive probably due to the fact that they were in Nepalese national costumes and served national dishes.
Among the problems of the destinations travel market players pointed out lack of direct flights to both Nepal and Brazil. Nevertheless, Gennadiy Kotov, Executive Director of Astravel, said that without ‘overcrowded’ charters these destinations are quite profitable for tour operators.
