Will Demand For Czech Resorts Increase?

   Tour operators hat specialize in the Czech travel market divided opinions regarding the development of balneological resorts of the Czech Republic. Some experts forecast a considerable extension of resorts popular with Russian tourists meanwhile others doubt such development of events.
    The demand for Czech resorts is stable, however experts point out the preferences of Russian tourists refer to four Czech resorts – Karlivi Vari, Marianske-Lazne, Podebradi and Frantishkovi-Lazne - out of more than thirty of them.
    According to Sergey Pustovoitov, Sales Director of KurortMedTour, many resorts that were not among the priorities of Russian tourists, have become interested in Russia. ‘Last year Czech Republic adopted changes within the social insurance program as a result insurance companies do not pay for medical services at resorts. Therefore, Czech resorts compensate drop in demand in the inner market by attraction of foreign tourists, including Russian ones’, explained Pustovoitov. KurortMedTour decided to take advantage of the situation having made contracts with 25 Czech resorts planning to send there 1, 000 Russian tourists per month.
    Other companies do not consider this niche to be perspective. According to Lyudmila Kurbatova, Director of Moscow Office of Czech Travel Company Destination, the problem of Czech resorts is that not all of them have a well-developed infrastructure not being able to provide high-quality service.
