    On the 1st December Dubai celebrated one of the most important holidays of the year - the National day of the UAE, which will last til the 4th of December, inclusive.Concerts, fireworks and other events will take place. A BANKO correspondent was assured by the Moscow representation of the Department of the Tourism and Commercial Marketing for Dubai that shops, resorts, restaurants and other tourist locations will operate to their usual regime. It is not expected that any inconvenience will be caused in connection with the mass festival – the representative office assured that there are no traffic jams in the Emirates. During this time, ‘local institutions’ only will be closed.
    This, regrettably, pertains to the immigration service in Airoport Dubai.
    ‘Because the visa department was allowed to go on holidays, we cannot process visas starting from today till December 5’, - sais Andrey Zorin, deputy director of ‘Russian Express’ company – ‘As a result we can not sell our last minute tours for this period and they expire’. Sergey Ovchinnikov, sales director of ‘Space Travel’, noted that the 1st and the 2nd of December, Thursday and Friday, are holidays for the immigration service anyway, so the two remaining holiday days off would not have much effect on sales.
    On the average, according to tour operators, not more than 5% of usual level of sales got expired.
