[IMG=21066-6904] Last winter demands of tour operators specializing in ski tours were met by two flights to Verona (450 seats) and two flights to Turin (280 seats). In season 2006-2007 no changes are expected on the Moscow – Turin route: PAC Group and Ascent Travel will launch flights by Boeing – 737. Meanwhile, experts of the other Italian destination said to a BANKO correspondent that the situation is not clear regarding flights to Verona. PAC Group will consolidate VIM-avia Boeing-757 flight. Ascent Travel is still negotiating with its partners but its flights will be most probably operated by the Urals Airlines A-320. Moreover, Megapolus Aviacharter plans to consolidate flights by VIM-avia Boeing – 757. Besides, it is not excluded that Spectrum will consolidate a flight to Verona. Furthermore, Boris Bogdanov, Director of Ascent Travel, said that even three flights to Verona will meet the demand only during the New Year period: ‘there are no enough market players on the destination to operate flights to Verona at its full capacity. Besides, there is a year round program to Rimini and scheduled flights to Milan’. Dmitry Shakhray, Product manager of Mondo Tours agreed: ‘I do not think the demand will increase by more than 10–15%’. Travel market experts point out that air traffic volume has increased in price by around 10–15% per passenger, while accommodation rates grew by 5–15%. Simultaneously, some current tendencies on the destination allow making more positive forecasts regarding increase of demand for ski tours to Italy. Thus, Kiril Zimogorsky, Head of Informational Support Department of PAC Group, emphasized active sales: people realize that the earlier you book the better product you get’.
