Tourists Hope For Justice

   In August 2005 travel company Daria from Dzerdjinsk (region of Nijny Novgorod) did not make a payment to one of Lermontovo private hotel for its tourists. The case has been submitted to the court. BANKO found out that the first court session us scheduled for the end of February. Irina Belitskaya, Representative of Customer Protection Department, said: ‘case is examined upon the criminal law and Director of Daria travel Company, Tatiana Kalinina, is accused of having fraudulently used company money. Eighty-seven claims regarding badly provided services were made through our Department. However, there were more people involved – some of them contacted law-enforcement authorities directly bypassing the administration of the city’.
   Representatives of local travel companies interviewed by a BANKO correspondent hope for the adequate decision of the court. Meanwhile, experts’ forecast is unpromising – local companies will hardly be able to recapture the confidence of tourists. At the moment many clients prefer to deal with Nijny Novgorod travel companies.
