The Russian Charter Center and Italian Baltour Announced a Charter Program To Pescara

[IMG=20132-5907]On July 15th the Russian Charter Center (the RCC) and the Italian tour operating company Baltour launch a first ever charter flight from Moscow to Pescara by Airlines – 400 TU-154. According to the RCC Commercial Director, Boris Yamschikov, the launch of the flight was initiated by Baltour: ‘the charter program was prepared together with the Government of Italy that want to promote a new region in the Russian market, while the RCC provide them with air traffic’. The RCC representatives believe the new destination will partly attract tourists from the traditional Italian resort – Rimini. However, the competitors do not rush into making positive forecasts: ‘the destination is new in the Russian travel market. Besides, transfer from Pescara to popular Italian resorts is not convenient. It might be a success if any of tour operators will promote it, but until now none took blocks on the RCC charter. I believe, that if the RCC had announced the charter program in January or February the project would be more successful’, commented Alexander Morozov, the Head Of Air Traffic Department of PAC Group. Furthermore, Lubov Chistyakova, Executive Director of Mondo Tours, stated as follows: ‘the area has many good hotels but the infrastructure is their weak point. I doubt Russian tourists will appreciate such quiet resorts as the majority of Russians prefer something more active’. Meanwhile, some travel market players are enthusiastic towards the Italian initiative. Thus, Vice-president of Lanta-tour voyage, Marina Medvedeva, explained: ‘Pescara is located in the center of Italy; therefore, we can organize all excursion tours through it. Besides, there are many Club hotels, which Rimini lacks. However, the flight program was announced too late that might affect the demand for charters’.
