In this season Pegas Touristik appeared to be the only Travel Company operating charter flights on the route Kazan – Antalya (four flights per week by Tatarstan Airlines starting from the end of April). Therefore, local tour operators complain they cannot get blocks and even individual tickets for their programs and they have to involve scheduled flights by Turkish Airlines and flights to Antalya from Moscow. However, local travel market players point out that the existing alternative is inconvenient owing night slots of Turkish Airlines.
As a result, according to Kazan Travel Companies, they have to book tour packages with Pegas Touristik. Moreover, they emphasize that the region lacks competition in the sky, which can be stimulated by Moscow tour operating companies.
Meanwhile, Anna Podgornaya, Sales Director of Pegas Touristik, commented on the situation as follows: ‘we are always ready for cooperation; we do not propagandize antagonism with either local or Moscow travel companies. As for blocks on our flights from Kazan to Antalya, we did not receive requests from local travel market players’.
