[IMG=20223-6001]The Consulate justifies the delays by a high flow of documents. Meanwhile, travel market players comment on such explanations differently. Thus, Svetlna Stroganova, General Director of Eurotravel, said: ‘it is impossible to avoid such situations, they happen every year. Yes, tourists miss they flights, but the Consulate agents do their best, but they cannot cope with the current workload’. On the other hand, Alexander Skopintsev, the Head of The Department of Greece and Austria of ICS Travel Group, said: ‘even applying for visa earlier than it is set by the Embassy does not guarantee issuing visas in time. Out tourists were supposed to get visas on June 19th and to fly on 25th, but they did not get visas in time and missed their flight!’.
However, some travel market experts believe tour operators themselves are to be blamed for the delays in the Greek Embassy. Thus, Anatoly Garkushin, Director of Pantheon, emphasized: ‘at the moment consulate agents have to correct documents applied by travel companies’
Meanwhile, Russian travel market representatives do no rush into forecasting the period of situation stabilizing. Moreover, the majority of travel market players believe the situation might get worse.
