The Airport In Barcelona Will Welcome 22 Charter Flights From Moscow

   In summer season 2006 Russian travel market players plan to launch additional flights to Catalonia, thus, considerably increasing air traffic volume to the destination.
    Firstly, the majority of flights consolidators increased air traffic volume by around 30%. As a result 22 flights per week will be operated to Catalonia instead of 15 realized last summer. Thus, Natalie Tours intend to consolidate 8 flights to Barcelona per week by S7 Airlines, Transaero and VIM-avia by Boeing- 757, 747 and 767; TEZ TOUR will operate four flights to the destination by KD-avia Boeing-737. Besides, VKO plan to fly by KD-avia Boeing-737. Furthermore, Vremya-tour will launch a charter flight by Kras Air IL-96 and take blocks of seats on flights consolidated by NEVA Travel Company, that plan to operate two flights per week by Kavminvodiavia TU-204. Ankodes will be a consolidator of two charter programs per week: by Kavminvodiavia TU-204 and by KD-avia Boeing-737. It is interesting that in summer 2006 the majority of Russian travel market players that specialize in the Spanish destination chose KD-avia as their partner.
    Secondly, CAPITAL TOUR that took blocks last year will now operate its charter flight by Airlines – 400 TU-154 starting from June 3rd. Alevtina Filosova, Sales Director of CAPITAL TOUR, pointed out: ‘at present CAPITAL TOUR offer new programs which require a separate charter flight’.
    Meanwhile, travel market experts feel optimistic towards the current air traffic volume, emphasizing the supply meets the demand for the destination. They believe that if consolidators will not be able to load flights by 100%, there will be small travel companies that will take blocks on their flights.
   Furthermore, experts explain the ambitions of travel market players by promotion campaigns initiated by Catalonia Tourism Office (Turisme de Catalunya). Thus, Jose Maria Perramon, Director of Turisme de Catalunya, commented as follows: 'this season we plan to welcome 350, 000 Russian tourists that is 45% more than last year. Our team will do their best to support tour operators that provide high tourist volume'. In particular, Turisme de Catalunya has already increased the advertising budget by around 25%.
