Representatives of Sputnik – travel company from Perm which is planned to become a co-consolidator of the charter chain to Turkey) believe that a new charter program will resolve the problem of August 2005, when charters from Perm flied only twice a week. ‘We plan to start a weekly flight by Perm Airlines to Antalia while TEZ TOUR will provide all in-country services’, said Vadim Yakhin, the Head of Sputnik.
However, there is an opinion that additional flights may become excessive for the market. Together with a new charter program, there will be three flights to Turkey per week that is too many for the region. Furthermore, a launch of flights to Egypt – another popular destination for Perm tourists - are considered to be problematic due to the previous experience that demonstrates underload of flights even during holiday periods. Vera Korobkina, General Director Deputy of Finist Travel, said: ‘Perm aircraft fleet is enough to provide charter flights at high season but Perm tourists prefer flying to Egypt from either Moscow or Ekaterinburg due to lower tariffs’.
