Test For Krasnoyarsk Airport

   The conflict between KrasAir and Sibir Airlines is escalating. Thus, on February 2nd upon the claim of Sibir Airlines, Krasnoyarsk Administration of Federal Antimonopoly Service made a decision to examine the handling capacity of the local airport Emelianovo. You may recall from earlier News Bulletins that last spring Sibir Airlines failed to make an agreement with Krasnoyarsk airport due to the airport’s low handling capacity. As a result, Krasnoyarsk Administration of Federal Antimonopoly Service will appoint an independent expert and set time for the expertise. ‘Most probably Siberian Office of Rosaviation will be appointed to examine the handling capacity of the airport’, stated Taisia Prokhanova, PR Manager of KrasAir Krasnoyarsk Office. According to her, the main airline of Emelianovo is ready to present all necessary materials and figures for the expertise. ‘After the expertise the argument about low handling capacity of the airport will become an objective basis for further relationships not only with Sibir but also if such problems arise in future with other airline companies’, said the KrasAir representative.
   Meanwhile, the opponent party believes that the expertise will prove their point of view – that KrasAir do not want competitors to enter Krasnoyarsk market. In this respect Director Deputy in PR of Sibir Airlines, Igor Volkov, said to a BANKO correspondent: ‘Ion September Rosnadsor, investigating the problem, came to the conclusion that technical characteristics of Emelianovo allow for more in-coming aircraft. The airport is quite big and is being developed; therefore it appears to be strange that they estimate the depreciation of airport assets at 95%. This brings up the question how KrasAir can realize flights and weather they meet the requirements set for international airports?’.
