Singapore Airlines opened up the cover

    Singapore Airlines recently announced the regular flight Moscow-Singapore scheduled by Domodedovo from the 1st of March 2006. The carrier’s intentions to enter the Russian market were known back in the beginning of October (see news as of the 27th of October). Now the plans were brought to life: Singapore Airlines will make trips by Boeing-777-200 three times a week with a stopover in Dubai. Tickets are not yet in sale, Oxana Lavrentieva, airline representatives, notes that prices are still not announced and are discussed.
   Tour operators who work in South-East Asia positively took the arrival of a new air company. Currently the direct flight to Singapore is offered only by ‘Transaero’, therefore the variety of offers will do good when creating tour programs. ‘Singapore is a very convenient changing hub for flights to Bali, Malaysia, Australia, Fiji, New Zealand’, says Konstantin Denisov, head of South-East Asia department at ‘Quinta Tour’. – ‘At the moment we have to go via Tokyo for this purpose’. Experts interviewed by a BANKO correspondent also note the high quality of a new flight to Singapore. ‘This is one of the top airline companies, a titbit for VIP tourists’, says Yana Bakhteuzova, head of South-East Asia department at ‘Spectrum’.
   Meanwhile, market participant are convinced that prices of Singapore Airlines will considerably exceed the offers of ‘Transaero’ which has been working on the destination in the scale of $700-900. Besides, the airline company plans related to partnership with operators are still unknown so experts do not find it possible to talk about real competition between two air carriers.
