For example, in February Thai Airways offer a ‘cold weather discount’- if the temperature goes 15 degrees below zero, tickets are offered with 15% discount.
On the basis of the campaigns mentioned above some travel companies are combining their tour packages. ‘At the moment we have a special offer to Vietnam and Cambodia based on ‘cheap’ flights to the destinations’, said Albert Kopian, Executive Director of Amitour. However, there are quotas on discounted flights. Besides, some experts, point out that discounted tickets are not always cheaper than block tariff offered by travel companies. ‘We have clients who having bought discounted tickets ask us to provide them with in-country services. As a result, their expenses, including taxes and fees exceed a cost of tour packages with block tariffs’, said Anatolyi Garkushin, General Director of Pantheon.
