On February 8th President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, is paying a two-day visit to Spain. During the visit the parties will sign a partnership agreement in the sphere of tourism. Sergey Sinitsin, Press Secretary of the Federal Tourism Agency, pointed out that the agreement referrers to tourism promotion in both countries and sharing of experience in the field of tourism. Similar agreements have been already made between Russia and 50 countries including Austria, France, Poland, Hungary, Thailand, Kenya, Lebanon, Republic of South Africa and even Palestine.
As a rule such partnership agreements describe only general points of cooperation. Nevertheless, Sinitsin believes that attention to the tourism sector from the authorities will stimulate the development of the Russian travel industry. ‘The agreement will encourage partnership relationships between Russian tour operating companies and Spain. Moreover, it will stimulate the popularity of Russian travel product in the Spanish market’, commented the expert.
Furthermore, Andrey Vlasov, Tourism Vice President of Intourist, confirmed that the agreement will stimulate the inbound tourism in our country: ‘Discussion of this program at the summit level will form an attitude to Russia as to a safe and interesting from the point of view of tourism country’.    Moreover, intergovernmental agreement might be profitable for tour operators sending tourists to Spain. ‘Only the fact of agreement will be a promotion for the destination. As soon as the agreement is signed Spanish companies will promote themselves in the Russian travel market more actively’, said Andrey Shmelkov, Development Director of VKO Travel.
