Nice With A Question Mark

[IMG=20280-6054]Spectrum Travel Company announced a launch of charter flight to Nice by KD-avia starting from July 15th, the Business newspaper reported on June 29th. An alternative flight generated the greatest interest in the Russian market, as a new flight will allow reducing prices for Cote d’Azur resorts. At the moment only Aeroflot operate scheduled flights to the destination. Ascent Travel, Jet Travel, Lanta-tour voyage, Mondo tours and Erzog will take blocks on Spectrum flight. Meanwhile, the first flight of a charter program to Nice was cancelled. Leonid Mokhov, General Director Deputy of Spectrum, confirmed the information: ‘there are too many obstacles; in particular, tariffs for scheduled flights to different French destinations are reducing dramatically. On this background our charter might loose its attractiveness’. He also pointed out that the issue regarding a launch of the charter program will be discussed on Monday at the meeting of Russian tour operators interested in the flight. Moreover, KD Avia do not have a permission to operate the flight from Russian aviation authorities. Besides, according to experts, Nice is not in high demand this summer. Nevertheless, the tour operators have partly sold blocks of seats on the flight. Having known about its possible cancellation, several market players are urgently changing flights for their clients. ‘We decided to send our clients by our charter to Genoa’, said Boris Burikin, Director of Ascent Travel. Meanwhile, other touroperators continue selling tickets on Spectrum flight believing it will be operated. ‘We are having very active sales at the moment for Spectrum flight’, commented Maxim Pristavko, Commercial Director of Jet Travel. Travel market experts believe that in case Spectrum cancels its flight to Nice, theoretically travel market players might use 4 charters to Genoa.
