[IMG=20684-6463]On August 14th Stefano Verrecchia will replace Enrico Nunziata whose placement period as Consul has come to an end. Meanwhile, representatives of the Italian Consulate and the Italian State Tourist Board do not forecast any changes will be engendered by the new appointment. However, travel companies that specialize in the Italian destination are interested whether the new consul be able to organize visa document process as Nunziata did.
‘It is practically the first season when tour operators are not concerned about visa issuing period – it does not matter that visas are sometimes issued late at night, but they are issued and tours are not disturbed. And it is a great achievement of Enrico Nunziata. We hope its successor will follow his ‘scenario’, explained Andris Kalninsh, Director of Mondo Tours.
Furthermore, Tatiana Varga, Marketing Director of Tourparade, commented as follows: ‘in 2006 the Italian Embassy supported Russian tour operators a lot, expressed interest in our clients primarily by improving the visa issuing process. At the moment tour operators are not considerably concerned about the new appointment. We only hope that our co-operation will remain fruitful and successful’.
Tatiana Chuvilkina, General Director Deputy of Natalie Tours, said: ‘Enrico Nunziata contributed a lot into the effective work of the Consulate. We are grateful for this. We hope that the new appointment will not only keep the work of the Consulate at the same level but will also engender its further improvement in spite of the tremendously growing demand for Italy in the Russian market’.
