[IMG=20022-5790]On June 5th hoteliers of the majority of the leading hotels of Monaco presented the travel opportunities of the region thus proving the interest in the Russian market.
Michel Bouquier, the Head of Monaco Tourism Board, said: ‘every year we welcome 7,500 Russian tourists. Given the promotion of Monaco, presentations and high quality service we plan to increase the current figure by 25% in this season’.
Meanwhile, Svetlana Kurkovich, PR Director of Inna Tour, commented as follows: 'Monaco needs to be promoted. But it will never become a mass-market destination owing the high cost of services provided’. Furthermore, Olga Maximova, the Head of Outbound Tourism of BSI, agreed: ‘Monaco is known for its casinos, SPA-centers, luxurious hotels, which wealthy Russian people already know about. Therefore, I believe that the current tourist flow will not increase considerably. On the other hand, it is unreasonable to try to attract mass-market tourists to the destination as it will loose its identity’.
