Exclusive Rights For Everybody

   On March 28th Mikhail Ioffe, the Head of Egypt Department of Tourenergoservice, contacted BANKO Information Service asking to cover the situation regarding selling tours to the popular Sharm-el-Sheikh Domina Coral Bay. For a year only two companies on the Russian travel market have had exclusive rights to sell tours to the hotel – Tourenergoservice and Riviera. To prove exclusive rights of the companies for in-country services he presented a letter signed by Pierre-Mari Vaser, Economic Development director of the hotel, which says: Domina Coral Bay has exclusive partners in the Russian market –TES and Riviera. Furthermore, Representative of the Italian Domina Group in Moscow, Natalia Schermachkova, confirmed the information: ‘other travel companies have no right to sell tours to Coral Bay. It is possible only in case they buy in-country services in Egypt from Riviera and TES. I-tours does not have a contract with the hotel to offer it in Russia’.
   However a tour to Domina Coral Bay can be booked on I-Tours web site. In order to clear up the situation a BANKO correspondent contacted General Director of I-Tours, Sergey Bakhtin, who commented as follows: ‘we sell Domina Coral Bay upon the contract we have with the hotel. There were no official reclamations from either incoming company or Russian tour operators’.
   Meanwhile, experts in the Egyptian market, point out frequent fraudulent cases between Russian tour operators and their Egyptian partners. For example, Maya Mostovaya, the Head of the Egyptian Department of Skyway, said: ‘several times we discovered that our partner welcomed tourists from other companies. However, it was enough to warn them to prevent further violation of the contract’.
    p.s. when the present article was prepared BANKO received additional information – the hotel staff found out several booking applications from ITS Germany for Russian people. TES representatives said that the hotel promised to avoid such coincidences in the future.
