[IMG=20932-6771]Tour operators from Siberian region risked to offer two new charter programs to the local market – Egypt and Vietnam. Previous attempts to launch short charter programs to Hurgada always failed. Yury Chuikov, Director of Glarus – tour, demand is limited by expensive flights to the destination: ‘it is more profitable for our tourists to fly via Moscow that allow them to economize $250’.
Meanwhile, representatives of Grand-tour, that became the only consolidator of charters to Egypt, explained their decision: ‘Egypt is second popular in the Russian market after Turkey, while our clients fly mainly to Thailand. We suggested Egypt to be popular among tourists from Novosibirsk’, said Oleg Timokhin, Director of Grand-tour. According to him, prices for Egyptian destination can easily meet the competition: a two-week tour package to Pattaya with accommodation in a 3* hotel is equal to the same tour to Hurgada with all inclusive system. S7 Airlines А-319 flights will be operated from Novosibirsk every two weeks from November 4th to June 7th.
Meanwhile, the situation is not clear regarding flights to Vietnam from Novosibirsk. Therefore, at the moment tour operators prefer not to unveil their plans for the destination. At present the information only about several flights was confirmed. Chuikov commented as follows: ‘it is a new and not yet promoted destination for Novosibirsk. It will require much effort to attract tourists to Vietnam’.
Furthermore, Novosibirsk travel market players do not forecast considerable changes on the Thai destination. Thus, Denis Astakhov, Director of Breeze, stated as follows: ‘sales will be at the level of last year. Probably, there will be a slight increase in demand’.
