Direct Flights From Russian Regions To Israel Might Stimulate The Interest In The Country

   Russia and Israel will increase a number of scheduled flights between the countries, reported the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. It refers not only to flights from Moscow but also from regional airports. Upon the agreement, only one Airline Company can realize flights to Israel from each airport. According to the Ministry of Transport Press Service, airline companies were chosen in the course of intergovernmental negotiations. Thus, Kuban Airlines obtained permit to fly from Krasnodar, Polet Airlines were licensed to fly from Voronezh and KD – Avia will fly from Kaliningrad. Other cities including Samara, Rostov-na-Dony, Ekaterinburg have not still made a decision regarding an Airline Company to realize scheduled flights to Israel. Except scheduled flights, charter flights will be launched from Rostov, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk.
   Meanwhile, experts think that the increased number of flights to the destination might result in the excess of air traffic volume to Israel. According to Ludmila Gashkova, General Director of Krasnoyarsk Travel Agency, Vokrug Sveta-tour, Israel as an excursion destination is not in demand in the region: ‘I believe scheduled flights to Israel will be interesting for those who go to the country to visit their relatives. At least, when there were no direct flights from Krasnoyarsk, many tourist fly from Novosibirsk’. Valery Shmelev, the managing partner of Globus-tour (Samara), agreed: ‘I can not judge about the whole Samara market but our company does not have many applications for tours to Israel. As a rule people are interested in the Dead Sea resorts’.
   Nevertheless, the launch of direct flights from regional airports might stimulate the demand for the destination. ‘When a direct flight to Beijing was launched, we could load it in a short time’, shared experience Ludmila Gorshkova.
