Croatian Stop-sale

Croatian Stop-sale

31.05.2006, 18:36
At the end of May many hotels in Istria, Split and Dubrovnik simulataneously announced stop-sale for June. Russian travel market players believe, the shortage of hotel rooms was provoked by the increased demand for Croatia of European countries, especially England. Thus, Natalia Galitskaya, General Director of Amigo-tours, commented as follows: ‘the popularity of Croatia is increasing not only in Russia. We will face accommodation problems especially in Dubrovnik where there are few hotels and no space for hotel base extension’. Travel market experts point out the current situation might result into misbalance between air traffic volume and in-country options. According to them, at present air traffic volume to Croatia is the same as last year, while a number of hotel rooms allocated to the Russian market has reduced. Therefore, the most negative impact will be made on those travel companies that preferred to work upon the allotment system. Russian market players do not rush into making optimistic forecasts for July and August.
