[IMG=21057-6895]The Italian Bulgari, known in the world for its luxurious watches and jewelry, is expanding the business at the moment. Soon the south-east of the Indonesian island Bali will see the opening of the new Bulgari Luxe Hotel. The first Bulgari hotel is located in Milan.
Guests of the hotel for whom 59 luxurious villas with terraces and private pools are prepared will enjoy the fabulous Bali starting from October that will cost minimum $1100 per night. Top managers of the company say that opening of the hotel was stimulated by the desire to recover travel industry in Bali and contribute into the economical situation of the Island. For the last two years there were two terrorist act on Bali in which 235 people died. Half of them were Australian tourists. That affected the economical situation of the Island: the tourist flow reduced by 27% comparing to 2002.
Furthermore, Head of Bulgari, Francesco Trapani, believes that the demand will soon recover: ‘the terrorist acts affected the tourist flow to Bali, but the demand will soon increase’.
Meanwhile, Moscow tour operators agreed with Francesco Trapani. Thus, Konstantin Malkov, General Director of ITM Group, stated that ‘serious businessmen would not open a luxe class hotel in a dangerous place. Their current initiative means the situation has normalized on Bali’. According to him, Russian tourists have forgotten about the explosions on Bali. Therefore, Malkov believes after several years demand for Bali will be equal to the demand for Thailand. Lubov Gulidova, Director of the Department of Exotic Destinations of CAPITAL TOUR was surprised with the position of Bulgari: ‘I do not think the reputation of the island suffered: the tourist flow was stable both in high and low season last year. Moreover, we expect high demand in the coming season’. The opening of the luxe class hotel is reasonable at the moment as, according to her, elite holidays are in demand on Bali by both Russian and foreign tourists.
