Bashkir Airlines Changed The Strategy

   Last week Bashkir Airlines (BAL) announced its plans to reduce Russian market presence and to move airpark to Iran.
   Irina Ovchinnikova, Press Secretary of the Airline Company commented on the changes in the interview to a BANKO correspondent as follows: ‘Two Bashkir Airlines aircraft already operate flights in Iran, in the nearest future we plan to move two more planes to the country’. Ovchinnikova explained that the changes were dictated by the changing strategy of the airline company on the market. Due to debts to the Ufa Airport top managers decided to move the airpark to Iran.
    However, Bashir Airlines do not completely leave the Russian market, as one aircraft will still fly from Ufa. In Iran, according to the Airline Press Service, aircraft will be leased to private and state companies.
    Meanwhile, travel companies in Ufa are not concerned about the situation. Zukhra Salisheva, Expert from Era – tour, pointed out that TEZ TOUR will operate flights by Kaliningrad Airlines, besides Bashkortostan – daughter company of VIM-avia – will fly in the region. Pegas Touristic will consolidate the only aircraft of Bashkir Airlines.
   Furthermore, Gulnara Baiburina, believes that the situation with the volume of flights in the region has improved: ‘two years ago only Bashkir Airlines operated flights setting high rates for flights. At the moment we hope that the competition will stimulate the normalization of prices’, summarized Baiburina.
