On April 26th the top managers of Tourparade, Jet Travel and Ascent Travel announced to mass media representatives and travel agents about the Sardinian Alliance. As well as last year the tour operators will organize charter flights to the destination in cooperation. Thus, starting from the end of June Aeroflot Tu-154 will fly to Cagliari instead of VIM-avia Boeing – 757 as it was previously planned (news/ 24.03). Besides, from the middle of July Transaero Boeing-747 will realize charter flights to Olbia. Furthermore, the consolidators will promote the destination by organizing various advertising campaigns, publishing booklets and brochures, improve the service for Russian tourists, and – the most important – they will form the pricing policy in order to avoid dumping prices. ‘We bank on our cooperation which will allow us to promote the destination better. Besides, working in the alliance is a step forward to the civilized market’, explained Svetlana Tsodikovskaya, General Director of Jet Travel, and Viktor Sergeev, Director of Tourparade.
The information about unprofitable sales of Srdinia appeared after some large tour operating companies set low prices for other Italian destinations. Despite the fact that Sardinia is not at risk at the moment, the alliance was created in order to forestall the situation. Meanwhile, Tatiana Chuvilkina, General Director Deputy of Natalie Tours: ‘we could set lower prices owing IT systems and large volume of sales. However, dumping has never been our instrument for conquering the market’.
