Accident in Thailand

   …and six were injured in the accident on the 11th of January near Bangkok. The consular section of the Russian embassy in Thailand informed a ‘BANKO’ correspondent that passengers of the mini bus were tourists of different operators including ‘TEZ TOUR’. Vladimir Kaganer, General Director of the company, confirmed this information: ‘Five tourists from our company were involved in the accident. Unfortunately, one woman died. All of them bought tours through the same agency in Kemerovo’. According to preliminary data, technical fault of the rented mini bus was a reason for the accident. It is not clear at the moment when the tourists are coming back to Russia.
   According to experts interview by a ‘BANKO’ correspondent, such situations are not common for Thailand in distinction from Egypt, for example. The Head of Tourist Office of Thailand, Konstantin Kinel, said that it was the first traffic fatality involving Russian tourists for 15 years he has been working in tourism.
   An accident of 2001 in Bangkok was mentioned among the most serious cases. None of 26 passengers of Global Union Express bus that crashed into another vehicle were seriously injured.
